Senior Data Engineer

About the job

As a Senior Data Engineer, you will play a key role in shaping and operating Orifarm’s data platform in a regulated (GxP) environment. You will combine hands-on engineering with technical leadership, working closely with business and IT stakeholders to build scalable, reliable, and compliant data solutions.

This role is ideal for someone who enjoys owning end-to-end data solutions, driving engineering excellence, and mentoring others while working with modern cloud technologies.

Your key responsibilities include:

Technical Leadership & Solution Design

• Take ownership of critical data pipelines, platforms, and integrations
• Design end-to-end solutions (architecture, data models, operations)
• Drive engineering best practices (code quality, reviews, standards)
• Contribute to architectural decisions and technology evolution

Data Engineering & Platform Development

• Design, build, and maintain scalable ETL/ELT pipelines
• Develop and operate cloud-native data platforms (Azure)
• Work with structured and unstructured data sources
• Ensure performance, availability, and reliability of systems
• Contribute to automation (CI/CD, Infrastructure-as-Code)

Operational Excellence

• Own incident management, root cause analysis, and improvements
• Ensure monitoring, testing, and reliable deployments
• Support critical data services

Governance & Compliance (GxP)

• Ensure compliance with GxP, GDPR, and IT governance standards
• Maintain high-quality documentation (SOPs, system documentation)

Stakeholder Collaboration

• Partner with business stakeholders to translate requirements into solutions
• Guide decision-making by explaining technical trade-offs
• Work with cross-functional IT teams and external partners

Mentoring & Team Development

• Coach and support other engineers
• Promote knowledge sharing and engineering maturity
• Contribute to a strong, collaborative team culture

Who are you?

Technical skills 

• Hands-on experience with Azure cloud services
• Hands-on experience with Databricks, including building and optimizing data engineering workloads on modern cloud data platforms
• Experience working with Databricks notebooks, Spark-based processing, and medallion-style data architecture is considered a strong advantage
• Strong expertise in SQL / T-SQL
• Experience building data pipelines, data models, and integrations
• Knowledge of APIs, data integration patterns, and security concepts
• Familiarity with DevOps practices (CI/CD, version control, code reviews)
• Experience with data governance, GDPR, or GxP environments is a strong plus
• Fluency in both Polish and English

Job Location

Warsaw, Poland. Hybrid work model – 3x/week from the office located in the office at Inflancka 4A.
