About the Role
We are looking for an experienced General Ledger Accountant to join our Finance team. In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial records, supporting statutory and management reporting, and maintaining compliance with accounting standards and internal policies.
The position requires strong accounting expertise, analytical skills, and the ability to manage complex accounting tasks independently. As a member of the team, you will also support process improvements, audit activities, and knowledge sharing within the organization.
Main Responsibilities
- Prepare and post recurring and non-recurring journal entries, including accruals and provisions.
- Perform account reconciliations, investigate variances, and resolve discrepancies.
- Prepare Trial Balance adjustments and support month-end and year-end closing activities.
- Prepare and review balance sheet reconciliations and financial reports.
- Manage and maintain fixed assets, including capitalization, depreciation, transfers, disposals, and reconciliations.
- Reconcile and monitor intercompany balances, including reimbursement postings and settlements.
- Perform inventory-related accounting adjustments and update cost prices where required.
- Ensure compliance with VAT and other transactional tax requirements, including external reporting (e.g., VAT, Intrastat, GUS).
- Support statutory reporting and financial statement preparation.
- Assist internal and external auditors by providing documentation, analyses, and explanations.
- Support business finance teams and other internal stakeholders with accounting-related matters.
- Contribute to process improvements, standardization initiatives, and strengthening of internal controls.
- Support and share knowledge with less experienced team members when needed.
Who are you?
You have:
- Degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or a related field.
- 4–7 years of experience in General Ledger accounting, financial reporting, or finance operations.
- Experience in multinational and shared service environments is an advantage.
- Experience with fixed assets, statutory reporting, tax compliance, and audit support is beneficial.
- Fluency in English is required; German language skills and/or experience in working for the German market would be considered a strong advantage.

- Strong knowledge of General Ledger accounting and financial reporting.
- Solid understanding of month-end and year-end closing processes.
- Experience in account reconciliations, accruals, provisions, and intercompany accounting.
- Good knowledge of fixed asset accounting, VAT, and statutory reporting requirements.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- High attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
- Knowledge of internal controls, compliance requirements, and audit processes.
- Proficiency in ERP systems and Microsoft Excel.
- Effective communication and stakeholder management skills.
