About the job
We are looking to hire a Country Manager in Italy, who will be responsible for starting up the sales activities for Orifarm A/S, build a local team and to ensure growth the next many years. Initially you have to ensure the sales yourself, starting from zero and at the same time start building a winning team to ensure success going forward.
Orifarm is the largest parallel importer of medicine and has one of the largest pharmaceutical product portfolios in Europe. We hold a strong position in our markets with good prospects for the future, because we challenge the market in all corners of our business, from selling original pharmaceuticals at lower costs to developing competitive pharmaceuticals and preparations.
In this role, you will be responsible for creating market demand, collaborating closely with internal teams to build the product portfolio, and supporting other Orifarm markets.
Your key responsibilities and primary task include:
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with decision-makers in purchasing groups, hospitals, wholesalers, and pharmacies
- Secure Orifarm’s position as a preferred supplier of parallel-imported and generic products
- Manage tenders, ensuring qualification and participation in hospital contracts
- Oversee portfolio management, pricing strategies, and stock levels to maximize profitability
- Lead and expand the Italian sales team, aligning efforts with our headquarters in Denmark
- Drive financial and production forecasting to achieve local budget targets
In this position, you will report to VP, New Markets, Nick Nyborg, who is overall responsible for the market expansion.
Who are you?
We are looking for a professional with 5+ years of management experience, with at least 3 years in a senior leadership position. You will need a proven track record of successfully managing business operations in Italy, sales excellence, and relationship building capabilities from former roles.
To be successful in this role, you will need a solid knowledge about the pharmaceutical landscape and potentially also with an existing network of pharmacies and hospitals in Italy.
As a professional, you possess great leadership and people management skills where you are capable of inspiring and motivating teams. The ideal candidate is a strategic thinker with problem-solving abilities, focused on long-term business growth.
Excellent communication and negotiation skills in both Italian and English are essential, as the role involves reporting to Denmark. Our corporate language is English in Orifarm.

You will be given the opportunity to build your own local team as the business grows. The new market team consists of a VP and a business development manager, both sitting in Denmark. The team has already done a lot, in order to secure market entry and we are now starting the next phase of the market entry by hiring a local Country Manager. Internal stakeholder management will be important to secure efficient market entry and operational excellence. You will have a close relationship with both supply chain and product development, both important stakeholders to ensure success in Italy. We have can do mentality and a wish to succeed in Italy and we hope you have as well.

Job Location
We are planning to have a small office in Italy – either Rome or Milan. In the meantime, you will be working from home when you are not in the field acquiring new customers and maintaining relationships.
