About the role

The Head of Site is accountable for employee health and safety, product quality, GMP compliance, dossier compliance, environmental protection, maintenance of premises and equipment, community engagement, customer service, cost for running the site and cost for producing products.

 

The site responsibility comprises the departments: Production Bulk, Production Packaging, Supply Chain, Engineering, Quality, EHS, Procurement, MS&T (dotted line), supported by business partners from HR, Controlling, IT and Accounting.

The Head of Site contributes to the Sales and Operations Planning process of Orifarm.

 

Main Tasks and Responsibilities

 

Primary tasks:

  • Maintain and enforce health & safety protocols and compliance guidelines.
  • Create strategic objectives for the Łyszkowice site derived from the Orifarm Manufacturing Strategy to enable the site to fulfil its role in the network as a center of competence for cost efficient manufacture and supply of liquids and solids products in line with global quality standards.
  • Be accountable for the site budget, both OPEX and CAPEX and best utilization of operational resources.
  • Provide line management oversight to the Supply Chain Manager, with full accountability for disciplinary reporting (budget, headcount, salary), while co-managing performance, task prioritization, re-source allocation and recruitment in a matrix structure with the global functional lead for Supply Chain. Functional aspects such as process strategy, harmonization, KPI setting – definition & targets and execution plus training fall under the responsibility of the functional manager.
  • Deliver annual performance in line with established targets making appropriate trade-offs whilst maintaining safety, quality and a focus on customers.
  • Safeguard product availability in order to supply Orifarm and third party customers in time
  • Continuously improve productivity and site cost reduction utilizing the concepts and techniques of Lean, Six Sigma, and industry best practices.
  • Drive improvements programs at site, to shift from being reactive to predictive and preventative, ensuring robust processes, reliable quality and continuous improvement.
  • Engage the site to regularly participate in industry benchmarks studies with regards to cost, productivity, quality, service and automation and to derive meaningful initiatives to improve in those areas.
  • Ensure the production of quality products in regulatory and quality compliance and at competitive cost.
  • Develop and maintain organizational structures that reduce complexity, enhance collaboration and provide opportunities to leverage people's capabilities
  • Create and maintain an environment that inspires and enables people to perform. Where at all levels people are empowered and informed, being collaborative and striving for excellence.
  • Elevate the capabilities of staff through on-the-job experiences and development and by applying training activities as needed.
  • Manage the collaborative interactions at local level between various functions some of which  have alternative reporting lines and active in networking across functions in Orifarm
  • Actively build and maintain good relationship of the relevant Łyszkowice staff with suppliers, providers, customers, Orifarm headquarters, relevant functions and departments within Orifarm, and relevant counter-parts in other Orifarm manufacturing sites.
  • Ensure the upgrade and qualification of facility and its infrastructure in accordance with agreed plans and timelines to ensure compliance with quality standards for facility and products.
  • Ensure maintenance, repair and timely replacement of equipment, utilities and IT-systems to avoid downtime and delays, ensure production process and machinery comply with customer specifications and professional and safety standards.
  • Take full responsibility for legal requirements associated with overall production and for Environment, Health and Safety (EHS) requirements according to law and Orifarm standard.
  • Manage follow-up activities in case of critical issues with impact on quality, cost and supply in coordination with internal and external functions.

 

Other tasks:

  • Represent Orifarm and Łyszkowice Plant in the area.
  • Meet with and develop cooperative relationships with partner companies in the area.
  • Build relationships with education institutions to build relationship for future employments.
  • Responsible Delegate in the legal sense of local regulations.
  • Responsible for compliance with administrative legislation, including; employee protection laws e.g. working time law, law on rest periods, work inspection law, maternity protection law, etc. for the areas of responsibility EHS, Projects/OpEx, ISIT and administration and compliance with employee protection laws within Poland.

 

Who are you?

You have:

  • Master of Science in Pharmacy, Engineering or other life science educational background.
  • Solid understanding of the pharmaceutical industry; the full end-to-end production, disposition and supply of pharmaceutical products.
  • Solid experience with xGMP standards and Quality Management in EU regulated production environment.
  • Experience in driving Compliance with all local, state, national and EU regulatory bodies.
  • Solid experience as a leader within a Pharmaceutical manufacturing plant.
  • Track record of embedding a culture of continuous improvement through process excellence,  empowerment and collaboration.
  • Proven ability to set strategy and direction, align stakeholders at all levels and mobilize  resources to implement it.
  • Mature personality, excellent leadership and communication skills.
  • Excellent people skills.
  • Commercial knowledge and negotiation skills with experience in resolving conflicts.
  • Experience in leading a line function, budgeting and strategic planning.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills with the ability to compile concise and convincing documents and deliver presentations to multiple levels of the organization.
  • Demonstrated experience negotiating contract terms and conditions.
  • Proficiency with computers and software, with a desire to learn new software applications to help drive improvement.
  • Fluency in written and spoken English.
